Terms of Service
Last updated August 24, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Handyman customer app, handyman app, and dispatcher console. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using the Handyman customer app, handyman app, or dispatcher console (together, the “Services”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Services.
2. What Handyman is
Handyman is a marketplace that connects homeowners in Yerevan (“ customers”) with independent repair technicians (“handymen”), through a human dispatcher who reviews and prices every order before a handyman is assigned. Handyman is not a party to the repair work itself: the contract for that work is between the customer and the handyman, and Handyman facilitates it — triage, quoting, assignment, in-app communication, and payment — in exchange for a commission on labor and the call-out fee.
Handymen are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or partners of Handyman. Handyman does not direct how a handyman performs their work and is not responsible for the quality, safety, or outcome of repairs performed by an independent handyman, beyond the dispute-resolution, rating, and verification processes described in these terms.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under Armenian law to create an account. Information you give us at registration and afterward must be accurate — you're responsible for keeping it that way, and for anything that happens through your account. One account per person; don't create an account on someone else's behalf without their authorization.
The Services are currently offered within Yerevan, Armenia, and we may limit or decline service outside our current coverage area.
4. Handyman verification and conduct
To receive job offers, a handyman must submit government ID, a matching selfie, and their claimed skill categories for admin review, and be approved per category. An account can be suspended at any time — for example for repeated low ratings, safety complaints, expired documents, or a terms violation — which immediately stops new job offers. Approval for one category doesn't guarantee approval for another.
Handymen agree to perform accepted jobs professionally and safely, log materials accurately with receipts where required, and communicate through the in-app chat rather than arranging to take a customer relationship off-platform.
5. Orders, quotes, and pricing
A customer submits an order with a category, description, photos, address, and preferred time window. A dispatcher reviews it and sends an itemized quote — a call-out fee, labor, an estimate for materials, and an urgency surcharge if the request is expedited. No handyman is assigned and no work is scheduled until the customer approves that quote.
If the job's scope changes once a handyman is on-site, the handyman may propose an updated price; that change routes through the dispatcher for approval and must be communicated to the customer before it's added to the final bill. Commission is calculated only on labor and the call-out fee — never on materials or the urgency surcharge — and is shown transparently on every completed job.
6. Payments
Jobs can be paid by cash on completion, Idram, or a bank card on file. For card and Idram payments, commission is deducted automatically at the moment of payment and the handyman is paid their net amount on the payout schedule in effect at the time. For cash jobs, the handyman collects payment directly from the customer, and the commission owed to Handyman is reconciled against the handyman separately (for example, deducted from a future payout). The full itemized total is always shown before a customer confirms payment.
7. Cancellations
A customer may cancel an order any time before a quote is approved at no cost. Cancelling after a handyman has been assigned or has started traveling to the job may be subject to a call-out fee to cover the handyman's time, at the dispatcher's discretion. A handyman who repeatedly cancels accepted jobs without cause may be suspended.
8. Communications and staying on-platform
Before assignment, only dispatcher-customer chat exists. After a handyman accepts a job, in-app chat between the handyman and customer opens for practical coordination. Real phone numbers are never shown in the interface, and chat is logged and may be reviewed by dispatchers, including to detect attempts to move a relationship off-platform. See our Privacy Policy for how chat data is handled.
Ratings, workmanship follow-up, and payment protection apply only to jobs booked and paid for through Handyman. Arranging future work directly with a customer or handyman you met through the Services, to avoid Handyman's commission, is a violation of these terms and may result in suspension.
9. Ratings and reviews
Customers and handymen may rate each other after a job. Ratings must reflect a genuine experience with that job — don't post a rating you didn't earn through an actual completed order, and don't manipulate your own rating. We may remove a rating or review that's abusive, off-topic, or violates these terms.
10. Prohibited conduct
- Providing false identity, verification, or order information.
- Harassing, threatening, or discriminating against another user or our staff.
- Circumventing the platform as described above.
- Using the Services for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or unsafe.
- Attempting to access another user's account, or data you're not authorized to see.
- Interfering with the normal operation of the Services.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Services are provided “as is.” Handyman doesn't guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any handyman matched through the Services will meet your expectations, beyond our verification and dispute-resolution processes described above.
To the fullest extent permitted by Armenian law, Handyman is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services or from repair work performed by an independent handyman. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms, poses a safety risk, or has a repeatedly poor rating history, with or without notice depending on severity. You can close your own account at any time by contacting hello@handyman.am; some order, payment, and audit records will be retained afterward as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Services change. We'll update the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we'll make a reasonable effort to notify you in-app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Armenia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute not resolved informally with our support team is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Yerevan, Armenia.
